About the song
Released on 12 June 2026, «Canto d’amore» brought Angelina Mango and Marco Mengoni together for the second time, after «Uguale a me» in 2024. The two wrote it with Jacopo Ettorre, and Giovanni Pallotti and Nicola Lazzarin produced it. It is a song about contrasts — the noise we make so as not to disappear, and the quiet of admitting who we actually are. The singer argues that everybody is performing, that songs and stories are ways of being seen, and that singing about love is simply the sanest option left. The chorus turns that into a request rather than a promise: if the ground shakes, at least you stay steady.
Did you know?
The song opens by asking you to listen to the silence outside — an unusual move for a summer radio single, which normally opens loud. It worked anyway: the track reached number one on Italian radio airplay in the week of 21–27 August 2026, climbing five places to get there. There is a second, quieter joke in the lyric: a verse about scrolling a dating profile to work out what kind of person someone is, right after saying you should never judge a book by its cover.
