Background
About the song
Released on 28 November 2025 by Subterfuge Records, «La Mitad de la Mitad» is the single with which the Madrid band La La Love You announced an album for May 2026. It is a love song with one idea, repeated until it becomes a joke about itself: the singer does not ask for a kiss, he asks for a quarter of one, and swears that even that would be enough to make him king of the world. In between he apologises for not listening — he was busy staring at the mouth he is talking about — and ends up promising to build a trophy, a keyring and a vase out of a single kiss.
Did you know?
The last verse measures happiness in football: he would celebrate the kiss the way Spain celebrated Iniesta’s goal, the one that won the 2010 World Cup final. It is the only concrete date in a song that otherwise never says when anything happens.
