About the song
Diane Warren wrote «I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing» and Aerosmith recorded it for the 1998 film «Armageddon», in which the drummer’s daughter, Liv Tyler, appears. It is a watching song: the singer stays awake rather than sleep through the time he could spend looking at someone. For a band whose reputation was built on hard rock, a Warren power ballad was a departure — and it became the biggest chart success of their career.
