Background
About the song
Timal is one of the more prolific French rappers of his generation, and «Sicario» is a compact example of what he does: a first verse of street logistics, a chorus in which a woman asks to be taken far away — as far as Rio — and a second verse that drifts between Spanish loanwords and brand names. The official video was published on 23 July 2026. The Spanish borrowings are not decoration: French rap has been absorbing Spanish and Latin American vocabulary for years, and here they carry the chorus.
Did you know?
Almost every «je» in the song is written as «j’» — the mute e that French drops when speaking but usually keeps when writing. There are more than twenty of them, which makes the track an unusually honest transcript of spoken French.
