Background
About the song
«Feuermelder» — German for "smoke detector" or, in older usage, "fire alarm" — is a single by the Berlin rap collective 1019, performed by two of its members, Lucio101 and Nizi19. It came out on 1 October 2026, on the same day as its official video on the 1019 Records YouTube channel. With a running time of one minute and 43 seconds it is short even by the standards of streaming-era rap, where many tracks drop the second verse altogether. According to the release details that the news site ad-hoc-news collected from Shazam, the label is BESTE and the beat was produced by Tommy Gun and onlylewe, with Kirby also credited; these credits come from that single source.
1019 is both a crew and a label. The group was founded in 2021, and its name is a small piece of Berlin geography: according to its biography on the music service Qobuz, 101 stands for the central district of Mitte and 19 for Charlottenburg in the west, the parts of the city where the members grew up. The core line-up is Lucio101, Omar101, Nizi19 and Karamel19, and the German Wikipedia entry also lists Yuyu19. After a first single, «Augenmaß», in 2021, the collective released the album «Lost Files» at the end of that year, which reached number 59 in Germany. «Lost Files 2» followed in June 2025 and climbed to number 36 in Germany and number 79 in Switzerland.
Both rappers on «Feuermelder» also have solo careers. In February 2025 the Berliner Zeitung portrayed Lucio101 as a 25-year-old from the area around Rosenthaler Platz in Mitte, with two albums behind him and around one and a half million monthly listeners on Spotify; his album «101%» had come out in the summer of 2024. Nizi19 grew up in West Berlin, and concert listings for 2026 announce a solo album, «Risiken & Nebenwirkungen» — "risks and side effects", the phrase every German knows from medicine adverts — and a tour in September. Earlier in the year the whole collective had been on the road with the «1019 Club Tour 2026», eight cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, among them Stuttgart on 5 June and Munich on 7 June.
Musically and lyrically the song belongs to German street rap, a genre built on a tough, larger-than-life persona: expensive cars and watches, money that has to be earned the hard way, weapons, drugs and a permanent cat-and-mouse game with the police. «Feuermelder» runs through that whole catalogue in a handful of dense lines. The narrator pulls up in a brand-new Porsche 911, explains why he keeps working, and jokes that the smoke in the room is more than any smoke detector could cope with — the image that gives the track its title. The police turn up again and again: as the ironic "friend and helper", as detectives who try to catch him out with trick questions, and as a flashing blue light that in the end belongs only to an ambulance.
