About the song
«Mo' Money mo' Haters» is a 2026 German rap single by Summer Cem and Shirin David. It was released on 13 August 2026, the date given on Spotify, and it is short and fast: a little over two minutes and twenty seconds. The official video was published on Summer Cem's YouTube channel. The title is a playful twist on «Mo Money Mo Problems», the 1997 hit by The Notorious B.I.G.: where the American classic said that more money brings more problems, this track says that more money brings more haters. That idea, success attracting envy and gossip, runs through the whole song.
Summer Cem, whose real name is Cem Toraman, was born on 11 April 1983 in Mönchengladbach, in western Germany, to parents from Malatya in Turkey, and he grew up in the district of Rheydt. According to the German Wikipedia, he signed with the label Banger Musik in 2014 and founded his own company, OG Scrpngang, in 2021. He is one of the most successful German rappers of the last decade: his albums «Cemesis» (2016) and «Endstufe» (2018) both went to number one in Germany, and so did «Maximum» (2017), a joint album with KC Rebell. In the song he refers to himself as «Siki», a nickname that also gives his 2024 album «Siki Jackson» its title.
Shirin David was born Barbara Schirin Davidavicius on 11 April 1995 in Hamburg, to a Lithuanian mother and an Iranian father. She started on YouTube in 2014 and moved into music a few years later. Her debut album «Supersize» (2019) went straight to number one, which made her the first female German hip-hop artist to top the album chart with a debut, and «Schlau aber blond» (2025) did the same. She is also a coach on the TV talent show «The Voice of Germany», where she first sat in the red chair in 2023. In March 2026 Netflix released a documentary about her life, «Barbara – Becoming Shirin David», and in June 2026 her collaboration «Gut genug» reached number one in Germany.
The song is built like a relay. Summer Cem opens with a dense verse full of boasts, brand names and jokes about his rivals, delivered at high speed. Then comes a short, catchy hook that mixes German and English: a night out, an expensive drink, the question of whether everyone is ready to go, and a look at fresh nails.
