Acquario
by Ultimo
A card set entirely inside a flat: frigo, armadio, sedia, cucina, sveglia, spesa. If your Italian copes in a restaurant and collapses at home, this closes the gap. frigo repays a second look, because it is frigorifero with the end cut off. Italian shortens long words constantly, and once you expect the habit a lot of apparently unknown vocabulary resolves into words you already know. Two commands sit here in contrasting shapes, abbracciami with the pronoun welded on and butta i kiwi without, plus a future in le rifarò. B1- is fair: short lines, ordinary words, and Ultimo sings them clearly.

Background
About the song
“Acquario” is a 2026 Italian pop single by Ultimo, a Roman singer-songwriter known for emotional, piano-driven ballads and a devoted young fanbase. His heartfelt style has made him one of Italy’s biggest live draws. Ultimo — Niccolò Moriconi, from Rome — won the young-artists section of Sanremo in 2018 and finished second the following year, and his songs have kept the same shape ever since: piano, voice, a slow build. The title carries two readings at once, the aquarium and the star sign Aquarius, which is the kind of double meaning Italian pop enjoys. At B1- the language is plain and the tempo is merciful, which makes this one of the better entry points in the Italian part of the catalog. Released on 9 January 2026 on his own label, Ultimo Records, it is the first single from his seventh studio album, “Il giorno che aspettavo”. He wrote and composed it alone and produced it with Matteo Nesi, known as Yoshi; the video is by the directing duo YouNuts!.
