About the song

«Straße» — simply "street" — is a German rap single released on 11 September 2026 by the Cologne rapper Cave together with Amo and Soufian, two names from the Frankfurt area. The beat was produced by Cozy and Eliel, and the official video was directed by Marco Schnarbach. The German hip-hop magazine hiphop.de presented it as a meeting of two of the country’s big rap cities, with the three rappers each telling stories of people who grow up in rough neighbourhoods and on the streets all over Germany. It arrived as a taste of Cave’s album «Demo», announced for 6 November 2026.

For Cave, 2026 was the year everything moved. Long known only to insiders, he placed three singles in the lower half of the German top 100 early in the year — «Damals», «Haus mit Boot» and «Mahalle» — and then, in May, released «Casa Cuba» with Amo. That track climbed to number two in Germany, spent nine weeks in the chart and passed twenty million streams; in August the Official German Charts named him their Breakthrough Artist. He records for SMD/Epic, and his first headline tour is planned for April 2027, from Stuttgart and Oberhausen to Zurich, Vienna, Cologne and Frankfurt. His sound mixes melodic street rap with personal storytelling and trap production.

Amo, born Rihan Shaabani, is a German rapper with Kurdish roots who first drew attention by finishing third on the rap casting show «Rap La Rue». He signed to 385idéal, the label of the Frankfurt duo Celo & Abdi, and his albums climbed quickly: «Amo aller Amos» reached number fifteen in 2024, «SSJ» number five in 2025, and «Aymo», a joint album with Aymen, number ten the same year. His trademark is speed — he raps faster than almost anyone in the current German scene. Soufian, born Soufian Amakran in Offenbach in 1996 to parents from Nador in Morocco, finished his Abitur and began studying computer science before a chance meeting on the street with Haftbefehl, Offenbach’s best-known rapper, changed his plans. After a guest verse on Haftbefehl’s «Kalash» in 2015 he was one of the first artists signed to Generation Azzlack, and his 2017 mixtape «Allé allé» entered the German album chart at number three.

The song is a portrait rather than a plot. The chorus returns five times and circles around one feeling: the police seem to know the speaker’s name, and the threat of prison has hung over him and his friends since they were children. Around it, each rapper paints scenes. There is a boy in hand-me-down clothes, meetings with rival crews in an underpass, a bloody nose that he plays down at home as a harmless accident with a ball, and a girl from the neighbourhood who falls for the romance of the tower blocks and becomes a mother at seventeen. Later come cheap kebabs, borrowed T-shirts, a phone that will not stop buzzing, time that rushes past with nobody to stop it, and a final warning not to believe people who only talk like gangsters. The lyrics are explicit: they include drug references, weapons and insults, which this card does not teach.
