About the song
«Été avec toi» — "summer with you" — is a French pop single by Adèle Castillon, released at the end of May 2026 (the streaming stores list 29 May) on Iconoclast Music, with distribution by Sony Music France. It runs for about three minutes and came with an official video. The French music press presented it as a sunny, nostalgic song about summer love and holiday memories, a track that mixes melancholy with an energy you can dance to, and it arrived together with the announcement of her biggest tour so far.
Castillon was born in Angers, in western France, on 24 October 2001. Many French viewers first knew her as a child: she filmed comedy videos in her parents’ bedroom and posted them on YouTube, took theatre lessons, and at fifteen travelled to Dharamshala in India to interview the Dalai Lama. She also acted in two feature films, the comedy «Sous le même toit» (2017) and the thriller «L’Heure de la sortie» (2018). In 2018 she founded the synth-pop duo Videoclub in Nantes with Matthieu Reynaud. Their songs, above all «Amour plastique», spread quickly on YouTube, TikTok and Spotify, and the duo released the album «Euphories» before splitting up in 2021, when the two also ended their relationship.
Her solo career began in June 2022 with the single «Impala». Her first album, «Plaisir Risque Dépendance», followed in October 2023 and earned her a nomination as female revelation at the Victoires de la Musique in 2024. That same year she recorded «Ce soir» with the rapper Gazo and carried the Olympic torch before the Paris Games. Her second album, «Crèvecœur», came out in 2025 and took her to large summer festivals such as the Vieilles Charrues and the Cabaret Vert.
The song itself works like a photo album of one summer. It is built from quick snapshots rather than a plot: a train journey with friends, the landscape sliding past the window, evenings at the beach and on the water, a sudden summer storm under a strange yellow sky, a night out in a dance bar in Nantes, long walks, late conversations on a balcony. The chorus turns to one person in particular and asks whether they still remember that time; the singer admits that she now dreams about it. Most of the verses are in the imperfect tense, the French tense of memories and habits, which makes the song a good place to hear how French tells what "used to happen".
